Homestar Certified
Assessments
Homestar has been developed by the New Zealand
Green Building Council (NZGBC) and BRANZ. Industry professionals across the entire building and

Homestar Certified Assessments
Homestar Certified
Assessments are performed by Homestar Certified
Assessors. These
Assessors are trained by the New Zealand Green Building Council
(NZGBC).
Homestar is
independently administered by the New Zealand Green Building
Council, a not for profit, industry owned
association.
Homestar Certified
Assessors use a sophisticated computer program to analyze your
home and determine its rating.
When to get an
certified Homestar rating
.
It is only possible
to get a certified Homestar rating once
a house is built or renovated.
However, Snug Homes
provides the unique opportunity to get advice beforehand, in
the design stage.
In this stage is it
generally easy to incorporate the recommendations at minimal
costs and aim for a high star rating.
Ask your Architect or
Designer for Homestar advice by Snug Homes.
As soon as the
concept plans are drawn and the proposed structures and
materials of the walls, ceilings, roof etc. are determined the
plans can be assessed by Snug Homes and a concept star rating
can be calculated.
You will receive
recommendations how to gain a higher star
rating.
After all or parts
of the recommendations are incorporated in the final design
and the house is built, the house will be inspected and the
certified
Homestar rating can be
awarded.
Cost
The cost of a
Homestar
Certified Assessment by Snug Homes Ltd
is $ 750 excl GST.
Travel costs may
apply.
